Police arrest 3 Kuwaiti women for running a prostitution den Man’s bid to smuggle in drugs, alcohol foiled
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: Twelve people were arrested at various checkpoints erected by security operatives from Hawalli during an extensive campaign across the governorate.
Sources said those arrested include people without civil ID, violators of law and drunken individuals. They were referred to the relevant authority for necessary action.
Meanwhile, the campaign is expected to continue over an indeterminate period to arrest the perpetrators of criminal activities.
3 women arrested: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested three Kuwaiti women — one of them of Jordanian origin — and five men for running a prostitution den and indulging in gambling activities in Salmiya, reports Al-Kuwaitiah daily.
The daily added the arrest came after residents of the area called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior and complained about the illegal activity.
The residents said they were getting disturbed by the constant loud music and noises from the apartment.
Smuggling bid foiled: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport recently foiled an attempt by an unidentified person coming from Thailand to smuggle drugs and alcohol into the country, reports Al-Mustaqbal daily. According to a security source the man was arrested on suspicion because he looked nervous.
The daily said the man’s baggage was thoroughly checked and police found with him four bags containing illegal stimulant hormones, food supplements and alcohol. The man with the goods has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Securitymen insulted: Two securitymen have filed a case accusing a Kuwaiti youth of insulting them in public while on duty, reports Al-Shahed daily.
This happened when the securitymen ordered the youth, who was driving a car to pull over, because the car was not road worthy and moreover, the glasses of the car were tinted.
The daily added the traffic police impounded the vehicle and ordered it to be taken to the police garage.
At this point the youth became ‘wild’ and insulted one policeman and almost beat the other.
He has been detained at the Shuwaikh Police Station.
