Four Kuwaitis seriously hurt in Al-Zahra co-op gang fight
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Four Kuwaitis were seriously injured in a vicious fight that broke out among 15 compatriots near a cooperative branch in Al-Zahra area, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The youths fought with sharp objects, said sources, adding paramedics referred the injured to hospital, while securitymen arrested the other youths involved in the fight.
Man beats sister: Police arrested a Bedoun youth for beating his sister and causing several bruises on her face, reports Al-Rai daily.
When investigators at Farwaniya Hospital questioned the girl, she said her brother assaulted her when she refused to marry the person he chose. The brother was summoned to police station where he admitted to the act.
A case was registered against him.
Murder attempted: Police arrested a Kuwaiti man for attempting to run over a compatriot following an argument over parking place in a cooperative society in Sulaibikhat, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said the wronged Kuwaiti filed a complaint and provided the plate number of the other Kuwaiti’s vehicle to police which led to the arrest of the accused. A case was registered.
Gas blast burns maid: An Asian housemaid sustained severe burns all over her body when a gas stove exploded in her sponsor’s house in Khaitan, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The maid was cooking in the kitchen when a gas leak triggered the explosion, said a police source. Firefighters rushed to the place, put out the fire quickly and prevented it from spreading.
Woman pulled from car: An Egyptian woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision on the Airport Road, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The Egyptian woman crashed into the car of a Kuwaiti woman who escaped unhurt, said sources. The woman remained trapped inside her vehicle until rescuers could pull her out.
