Police track down trio selling imported liquor Indian held with 273 bottles
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: Police have arrested three Kuwaitis (one young man and two women) for selling imported booze, reports Al-Rai daily.
The bootleggers were arrested in Salmiya. When the trio saw a police vehicle approaching, the man who was behind the wheel drove off.
Police chased and arrested the man and seized from the car five bottles of whisky.
During interrogation the man admitted to selling seven bottles to some people who were holding a party in one of the apartments at an unidentified location.
Indian held with 273 bottles: An Indian expatriate was arrested in possession of 273 bottles of local liquor in Nugra area. Patrols on routine duty suspected the Indian motorist and asked him to pull over. They initially found a few bottles of local brew on the back seat of the vehicle and later found the rest in the trunk of the car. The Indian was referred to Nugra Police Station with the contraband.
In a separate incident, police arrested an Asian expatriate in possession of 50 bottles of liquor on Amman Street in Salmiya. He too was referred to authorities for further action.
