KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19: Police have arrested a housemaid for setting fire to the home of her sponsor in Sabah Al-Salem, reports Al-Shahed daily.
During interrogation the maid is said to have admitted to the charge because the sponsor was maltreating her.
According to reports the maid set fire to her room but it soon spread to the entire house. The fire was put out by firemen.
The extend of damage is not known. No casualties have been reported.

Youth assaulted: Police are looking for five teenagers for assaulting an unidentified youth just because he requested them to pay for the food they had eaten at a restaurant in Jahra, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said the teenagers ate at the restaurant and refused to pay the money. When the waiter called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior, the victim intervened and requested them to pay for the food instead of getting involved in trouble for the sake of KD 4 worth of food.
At this point the teenagers got angry beat the youth mercilessly and escaped.
The youth has been referred to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jahra Hospital with fractures and serious injuries.

Betrayal of trust: A Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the police accusing an unidentified expatriate accountant of betrayal of trust, reports Al-Rai daily.
In his complaint the Kuwaiti, a real estate owner, said the suspect collected KD 10 extra rent from each tenant and escaped.
The complainant added he learned of the incident when several tenants complained to him for illegally increasing the rent.
The man is said to have collected with KD 1,500 without the knowledge of the Kuwaiti. He will be summoned for interrogation.
