KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19: Officers at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested a Portuguese citizen who was wanted by law for smuggling alcohol into the country, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The man was arrested shortly before the plane was to take off.

22 illegal births: Director of Al-Sabah Maternity Hospital Dr Abbas Ramadan was recently quoted as saying the hospital has until now helped 22 women to give birth to illegitimate babies, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The daily quoting the director said the hospital plans to soon establish a new section for such cases.

Drug pills found in meat packets: Customs officials at the Kuwait International Airport foiled an Egyptian expatriate’s attempt to smuggle 20,000 narcotic pills into the country.
The man had hidden the pills in meat packets. Director General of Customs General Department Ibrahim Al-Ghanim praised the staff on duty for foiling the smuggling attempt.

‘Cannot stand training’: Fiftyeight cadet officers at the Ali Sabah Al-Salem military college are said to have left the college just 24 hours after joining, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The cadets are part of first batch consisting of 380 ‘men’. The cadets gave up because they allegedly could not endure the military training.

Suspect was in Kuwait: Interior Ministry contacts with its Saudi counterpart show one of the terrorist suspects who is in custody of the Saudi Arabian authorities entered Kuwait a few days ago through the Kuwait International Airport and returned to Saudi Arabia after a couple of weeks, reports Al-Dar daily quoting top-level security source.
It has been published the terrorists were planning to attack select spots in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait.
