Officer stabbed preventing man hurt his wife 5 ‘heavy’ women cause elevator to stall

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 18: A police officer with the rank of first lieutenant sustained minor injuries when a Kuwaiti beat him, while he was trying to stop the latter from hurting his wife.
Sources revealed a team of officers rushed to a house in Jahra in response to the call of the Kuwaiti’s wife, who told police that her husband threatened to kill her with a knife. When the officers tried to stop the suspect, he attacked one of them, causing minor injuries.
During interrogations, the officers discovered the suspect is wanted by law for his involvement in 20 cases, including drug consumption and civil cases. He was referred to the relevant security department for the necessary legal action.

Women stall lift: Five old women were trapped inside the lift of a residential building in Saad Al-Abdullah area.
Rescue workers and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operations Room received information on the incident. They helped the women out of the lift which, sources say, malfunctioned because the total weight of the women — 400 pounds — exceeded its capacity. No injuries were reported.

Children cause fire: A vehicle went up in flames, as a group of children tampered with its components in Amghara scrap yard.
Based on this report, a team of firemen with securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene, but the fire had completely damaged the car before rescue arrived. No casualties were recorded. A case was registered.

Dispute blamed: A Bedoun has accused some of his nephews of stealing his safety deposit box from his house Sulaibiya.
The complainant told police his safe contained KD 9,000 and six passports. The case has been transferred to the concerned security department for further investigation. Sources said the nephews may have carried out the crime due to family disputes.

Drunk, wanted: Special detectives apprehended a drunken youth accompanied by two girls wanted for various civil cases in Salmiya area.
Sources said the officers ordered the youth to stop when they noticed indecent manner the girls in his company were dressed. However, they threw bottles of liquor at the officers and tried to flee. The suspects were chased and subsequently arrested by police in Salmiya, where a check on their details revealed the girls were wanted. They were referred to Public Prosecution.

80,000 illegals?: Six residency law violators were arrested by security operatives in Kuwait City during their routine patrol of the area. The culprits were referred to the concerned authority for necessary action.
Sources confirmed the campaign will continue to nab other violators, considering over 80,000 people live in the country illegally.
