‘Govt never neglected rightful demands of some workers’ Al-Rashed says he personally met with public sector reps, labor unions

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 18: The Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ali Al-Rashed says the government, with the Civil Service Commission (CSC), under no circumstances neglected the rightful demands of some public sector workers, reports Al-Anba daily.
In a special statement, Al-Rashed stressed that he personally met with public sector representatives and labor unions to hear their grievances and promised to include their problems on the agenda of CSC, indicating many of them will have their demands met, although some require adequate study by the ministerial legal committee or the technical arm of CSC before approval.
With the salary scales of staff at the Fatwa and Legislation Department and the General Department of Investigations, Al-Rashid said a bill has been forwarded to the Legal Affairs Committee for study, which will be sent back to the council with recommendations. He added the Council of Ministers will pass the bill immediately after the issue has been settled.
Regarding the protest of legal experts in the ministries, Al-Rashed sued for dialogue and asked the experts to give him a chance to act without pressure. He maintained that strikes would not guarantee their demands and they should be patient.
