Son forges father’s signature, transfers residence of his maid Drug pills, cellphones seized from inmates
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: In less than 24 hours, the General Immigration Investigation Department is said to have arrested a Kuwaiti man for forging the signature of his father and transferring the residence permit of his father’s maid to another person, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to a security source, this happened when the father filed a complaint with the security authorities that the residence permit of his maid was transferred ‘illegally’ to another person.
Investigations conducted by the immigration personnel discovered the complainant’s son was the one who produced his civil ID and the document allegedly signed by the father which turned out to be a forgery.
The son admitted to committing the crime. The forger has been detained at the Shuwaikh Industrial Police Station.
Drug pills seized: Security officers at the Central Prison during a surprise four-hour inspection of wards are said to have seized a quantity of narcotic pills and 20 cellphones, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The operation was conducted following reports of drug abuse by prisoners and random use of cellphones.
Police are investigating how the forbidden items found their way into the prison.
Top officer’s car burgled: The car of a top official at the Ahmadi Social Affairs Department was burgled and the thieves carted away vital documents, personal belongings, bank cards, an official stamp and KD 50, reports Al-Rai daily.
The official accused some Asian guards at a building near to where he parked his car and they have been summoned for investigation.
