KUWAIT CITY, Sep 12: Members and supporters of FBAA Filipino Badminton Association of Ahmadi (FBAA) were treated to some excellent matches with the Brown squad running away with the titles in the top two categories of the FBAA 1st Max-Bhasin two-day tourney at the Fahaheel Sports Club, Friday.
The Brown team were not content with being the champions in Men’s A, the top-most category, as they also took the title in Men’s B while Orange were the best in Men’s Higher C, Aqua triumphed in Men’s Lower C, Lime took the crown in Ladies A& B and Black emerged at the top in Mixed C.

Men’s A
Brown bagged the championship crown in the premium Men’s A class when they collected a 2-1 win and 7-3 points against the Gold team after Joshua Lagran and Marvin de Luna pressed on the accelerator in the last two sets and edged Carlo Bornilla and Gerry Aguilar 9-15, 15-11, 15-6 while Joshua and Allan Bondoc won by default against Carlo and Philip Marimla. Gold acquired their single victory through Gerry and Eduard Pascual who blended well on the courts to outlast Joshua and Marvin in a seesaw battle 15-14, 14-21, 15-13.
Earlier, in the last stages of elimination round, Green and Aqua tied with 2 wins each but Green collected 126-118 total points as Francis Enriquez and Roy Satorre beat Glenn Perea and Ato Mondejar 32-29 while Ed Antonio and Roy overwhelmed Joel Buot and Ato 36-25. Aqua bounced back through Rowx Bugas and Joel who edged Sherwin Felizardo and Ed 32-29 while Rowx with Glenn outlasted Sherwin and Francis 32-29.

Gray team pulled off a landslide 4-0 victory against Black and collected 135-109 total points driven by Joenel Seva and Joms Tantiangco who edged Albert Marcelo and Bon Elamparo 32-29 while Nikka Roda and Emil Millanar overcame Ron Margate and Mike Florendo 34-27, Joenel and Nikka beat Albert and Ron 32-29 and the tandem of Joms and Emil hammered Bon and Mike 37-24.
Gold team also achieved a total 4-0 victory against Blue and compiled 146-98 points when Carlo and Philip tamed Forp Alonzo and Jong Rimando 33-28, Gerry and Eduard outclassed Norman Abad and Jerry Labagnoy 37-24, Carlo and Gerry brushed aside Forp and Norman 35-26 and Philip with Eduard wasted no effort to beat Jong and Jerry 41-20.
Green completed a 3-1 win and got 133-111 total points against Gray as Francis and Roy outlasted Nikka and Emil 32-29, Sherwin and Francis thumped Joenel and Nikka 36-25 and the pair of Ed and Roy overpowered Joms and Emil 36-25. Gray did not go home empty handed when Joenel and Joms edged Sherwin and Ed 32-29.
Brown gained a 3-1 win and 129-115 points against Aqua when Marvin and Anthony outclassed Glenn and Ato 37-24, Joshua and Marvin overcame Rowx and Glenn 34-27 and Allan with Anthony outlasted Joel and Ato 32-29. The tandem of Rowx and Joel saved the day for Aqua when they overwhelmed Joshua and Allan 35-26.

Men’s B
Brown walked home with flying colors in the finals of Men’s B when they achieved total 4-0 victory for the title against Blue and collected 9-3 points as Kenan Lobo and Kiesha Stecky edged Marlad Aman and Dennis Malay 10-15, 15-11, 15-10 while Marian Salunga and Ahmad Stecky worked harmoniously on the courts to overwhelm Roman Malabanan and Maricel Romano 15-7, 15-11, Kenan and Marianne outlasted Marlad and Roman 9-15, 15-8, 15-12 and the pair of Kisha and Ahmad beat Dennis and Maricel 9-15, 15-8, 15-12.
In the earlier games, Brown collected a 3-1 win and 151-93 total points against Aqua through Kenan and Kiesha who thrashed Ryan Aguilar and Arjay Lesaca 42-19 while Kenan and Marianne brushed aside Ryan and Hans Itaas 37-24 and the pair of Kiesha and Ahmad wasted no time to crush Arjay and James Blaz 42-19. Aqua did not go home empty handed when Hans and James outlasted Marianne and Ahmad 31-30.

Blue team accomplished landslide 4-0 victory against Gold and compiled 145-99 total points through Marlad and Dennis who thumped Anthony Valdez and Karlo Petines 33-28 while Marlad and Roman tamed Anthony and Tim Torres 35-26, Dennis with Maricel outclassed Karlo and Victor Toledo 36-25 and one match was won by default.
Black generated a 3-1 win and 143-100 total points against Gray when Gun Urip and Kenjie Corpuz hammered Arnie Manuel and July Espiritu while Joel Marasigan and Jeanette Tantiangco overwhelmed Jonathan Munalem and Roma Valdez 38-23 and Kenjie with Jeanette outclassed July and Roma 33-27. The tandem of Arnie and Jonathan scored for Gray when they overcame Gun and Joel 33-28.

Men’s Higher C
Orange team reigned in Men’s Higher when the championship games saw them claim a 3-1- win and 9-3 points against Blue driven by Cheryl Manaytay and Enrique Macarandang who outlasted Glen Piliotas and Joshua Monungolh 15-14, 4-15, 15-11 while Benjie Abastillas and Joel dela Cruz hammered Jun Gonzales and Marc Joy Gaza 15-12, 15-6 and the pair of Enrique and Joel overwhelmed Joshua and Marc Joy 15-14, 15-7. Blue team scored through Glenn and Jun when they edged Cheryl and Benjie 14-15, 15-13, 15-10.
In the earlier matches, Blue gathered a 3-1 win and 124-120 total points against Black through Glenn and Joshua who outlasted Alvin Godoy and Shiraj 32-29 while Glenn and Jun hammered Alvin and Cheyenne Lampian 37-24 and the pair of Joshua and Marc thumped Shiraj and Marlon Villanueva 35-26. Black did not go home empty handed when Cheyenne and Marlon blended well on the courts to outclass Jun and Marc 41-20.

Orange pulled off a landslide 4-0 victory against Maroon and collected 153-91 points driven by Cheryl and Enrique who overwhelmed Aldrin Turalde and Marvin Abalos 36-25 while Benjie and Joel hammered Elmer Rivera and Ell Parado 37-24, Cheryl and Benjie brushed aside Aldrin and Elmer 35-26 and Enrique with Joel thrashed Marvin and Ell 45-16.
Aqua achieved a 3-1 win and scored 142-102 total points against Brown as James Aguinaldo and Ronilo Fuentes tamed Resty Elisan and Carolus Bag-ao 36-25 while Noel Zagada and James overcame Jemmo Palado and Resty 40-21 and Danny Quindoza and Ronilo hammered Franklin Montesclaros and Carolus 39-22. Brown scored through the tandem of Jemmo and Franklin when they tamed Noel and Danny 34-27.
Purple acquired a 3-1 win and 133-111 total points against Green through Keesha Ng and Shy Daprosa who tamed Raymond Albay and Cristopher Castilla 34-27 while Keesha and Cherry Hondunero crushed Raymond and Benedict Garcia 41-20 and Shy with Sharon edged Cristopher and Freddie 32-29. The tandem of Benidict and Freddie saved the day for Green when they overcame Cherry and Sharon 35-26.
Lime completed a 3-1 win and compiled 117-127 total points against Yellow after Ronaldo Marquez and Nicols Flores overcame Sajid Avila and Arcee Piscasio 33-28 while Ferdinand Caboverde and Reil Calalang thumped Tony Elamparo and Lorie Seva 35-26 and Nicols with Reil outlasted Arcee and Lorie 33-28.

Yellow scored through Sajid and Tony who wasted no effort to thrash Ronaldo and Ferdinand 45-16.
Red and Gray tied with 2 wins each but Red got 137-107 total points as Ryan Rivera and Nihar Esmula hammered Jovie Vidal and Anne Diaz 41-20 while Noel Enbon and Joeper Mole crushed Martin Vidal and Gigi Imperalde 41-20. Gray bounced back through Jovie and Martin who overwhelmed Rhyan and Noel 34-27 while Anne and Gigi overcame Nihar and Joeper 33-28.
Gold team pulled together a 4-0 total victory against Violet and collected 146-98 total points after Jet Adlawan and Rico Gabuyo tamed Mohammad Shabaz and John Fernandes 33-28, Regina Casano and Maher Abdulwahab overpowered Shabber and Allen 41-20, Jet and Regina brushed aside Mohammad and Shabber 33-28 and Rico with Maher outclassed John and Allen 39-22.
Orange gained a 4-0 victory and 146-98 total points against Lime driven by Cheryl and Enrique who brushed aside Ronaldo and Nicols 38-23 while Benjie and Joel thumped Ferdinand and Reil 35-26, Cheryl and Benjie overcame Ronaldo and Ferdinand 35-25 and Enrique with Joel hammered Nicols and Reil 38-23.

Black and Brown scored 2 wins and 122 points each . Black scored through Alvin and Shiraj who tamed Jemmo and Franklin 34-27 while Alvin and Cheyenne outclassed Jemmo and Resty 40-21. Purple collected a landslide 4-0 victory and 143-101 total points against Maroon when Keesha and Shy brushed aside Aldrin and Marvin 35-26, Cherry and Sharon overwhelmed Elmer and Ell 37-24, Keesha and Cherry tamed Aldrin and Elmer 36-25 and Shy with Sharon beat Marvin and Ell 35-26.
Gold gained a 3-1 win and 111-110 total points against Aqua through Jet and Rico who overcame Noel and Danny 33-28 while Jet and Regina overpowered Noel and James 37-24 and Rico with Maher brushed aside Danny and Ronilo 35-26. The tandem of James and Ronilo scored for Aqua when they hammered Regina and Maher 32-6.

Red and Green tied with 2 wins each but Red scored 134-110 total points through Rhyan and Nihar who won by default against Raymond and Cristopher while Rhyan and Noel brushed aside Raymond and Benedict 36-25. Green retaliated through Benedict and Freddie who tamed Noel and Joeper 34-27 while Cristopher and Freddie edged Nihar and Joeper 31-30.
Blue completed landslide 4-0 victory against Yellow and scored 141-103 total points due to Glenn and Joshua who thumped Sajid and Arcee 35-26 while Jun and Marc edged Tony and Lorie 32-29, Glenn and Jun brushed aside Sajid and Tony 37-24 and Joshua with Marc outclassed Arcee and Lorie 37-24.

Violet earned a 3-0 win and scored 133-90 total points against Gray after Mohammad and John thumped Jovie and Anne 38-23 while Shabeer and Allen won by default against Martin and Gigi, John and Allen tamed Anne and Gigi 34-27 and both the teams acquired one match by default.

Men’s Lower C
Aqua collected the title in Men’s Lower C against Gold although the championship matches saw them collect 2 wins and 6 points each .But after the cumulative points had been tallied, according to the rules set by the FBAA Technical Committee to break the tie, it was found that Aqua had earned 152 points while Gold totaled 147 points.
The final games saw Aqua score through Ildone Galvez and Rhyan Alcantara who outlasted Ariel Casas and Cecille Ibon 15-8, 8-15, 15-9 while Mark Quesada and Rhyan edged Roy Fuscablo and Cecille 11-14, 15-13, 15-8. Gold bounced back through Modesto Unida and Roy who beat Dominic Coelho and Mark 14-15, 15-8, 15-14 while Modesto and Ariel outlasted Dominic and Ildone 6-15, 15-8, 15-13.
Earlier that day, Aqua gathered a 3-1 win and scored 130-114 total points against Gold as Dominic and Mark edged Modesto and Roy 32-29 while Ildone and Rhyan overcame Ariel and Cecille 34-27 and Mark with Rhyan thumped Roy and Cecille 35-26 .For Gold, Modeston and Ariel beat Dominic and Ildone 32-29 to collect a point for their team.

Black accomplished a landslide 4-0 victory against Blue and scored 134-110 total points through Gay Ramas and Karlo Diaz who outclassed JD Omara and Lhen Vidal 33-28 while EErnel Carino and William Recado brushed aside Kristine Novino and Jayson Hubal 34-27, Gay and Ernel overpowered JD and Kristine 36-25 and Karlo with William edged Lhen and Jayson 31-30.
Brown were in their best form and pulled together a total 4-0 victory against
Gray and collected 145-99 total points driven by Michael Rodrigues and Gerry Torio who thumped Jay Parantar and Arthur Cotoco 33-28 while Danilo Basco and Erwin Climaco overpowered Hammie Itaas and Shubert Noronha 38-23, Michael and Danilo beat Jay and Hammie 33-28 and Gerry with Erwin outclassed Arthur and Shubert 41-20.

Black were in their best shoes when they once again achieved a total 4-0 victory against Gray and scored 147-97 total points when Gay and Karlo edged Jay and Arthur 31-30, Ernel and William overwhelmed Hammie and Shubert 41-20, Gay and Ernel thrashed Jay and Hammie 43-18 and Karlo with William outlasted Arthur and Shubert 32-29.
Gold gained a landslide 4-0 victory against Blue and collected 156-88 total points through Modesto and Roy who hammered JD and Lhen 39-22 while Ariel and Cecille brushed aside Kristine and Jayson 36-25, Modesto and Ariel thumped JD and Kristine 38-23 and Roy with Cecille overpowered Lhen and Jayson 43-18.
Aqua generated a 3-1 win and scored 120-124 total points against Brown after Dominic and Mark overcame Michael and Gerry 33-28 while Dominic and Ildone outlasted Michael and Danilo 32-29 and the pair of Mark and Rhyan brushed aside Gerry and Erwin 35-26. Brown did not go home empty handed when Danilo and Erwin hamered Ildone and Rhyan 41-20.

Ladies A & B
In Ladies A and B, Lime team were made to sweat before they could walk home with the crown as the championship finals saw them collect 2 wins as did Blue but Lime managed to collect 7-5 points after Jenny Rose Garcia and Arlene San Mateo brushed aside Ruby Rose Miranda and Psyche Yvette Palado 15-2, 15-10 and Sang Piscasio with Arlene hammered Ligaya Caedo and Psyche 15-5, 15-10. Blue bounced back through Shey Jocson and Ligaya when they edged Beng Pastor and Sang 11-15, 15-4, 15-9 while Shey and Ruby overcame Beng and Jenny 15-10, 15-12.
The earlier matches witnessed Lime complete a total 4-0 victory against Aqua and collect 144-100 total points driven by Beng and Sang who edged Elsie San Juan and Daisy Villanueva 32-29 while Jenny Rose and Arlene overpowered Thess Herrera and Jessa Piol 42-19, Beng and Jenny brushed aside Elsie and Thess 35-26 and Sang with Arlene thumped Daisy and Jessa 35-26.

Gold and Brown finished with 2 wins and 122 total points each. Gold scored through Jennifer Petines and Mhe-ann Golpo who edged Vervil Stretcho and Beth Marasigan 32-29 while Mhe-ann with Roselle Lunaria overcame Beth and Noraiza Parado 37-24. Brown fought back through Catherine Punzalan and Noraiza who tamed Rushe Flores and Roselle 34-27 while Vervil and Catherine thumped Jennifer and Rushe 35-26.

Aqua gathered a 3-1 win and 141-103 total points against Maroon as Elsie and Daisy thumped Belinda Valdez and Gren Padrones 38-23, Thess and Jessa tamed Marivic Palad and Stella Cagampang 34-27 and Elsie with Thess wasted no effort to beat Belinda and Marivic 40-21. Maroon did not go home empty handed when the girl power of Gren and Stella edged Daisy and Jessa 32-29.
Lime accomplished a 3-1 win and 131-112 total points against Brown driven by Beng and Sang who outlasted Vervil and Beth 32-28 while Jenny and Arlene outclassed Catherine and Noraiza 38-23 and the pair of Beng and Jenny overwhelmed Vervil and Catherine 34-27. The tandem of Beth and Noraiza saved the day for Brown when they brushed aside Sang and Arlene 34-27.
Blue gained a 3-1 win and 129-115 total points against Gold through Shey and Ligaya who tamed Jennifer and Mhe-ann 35-26 while Ruby and Psyche thumped Rushe and Roselle 32-29 and Shey with Ruby outclassed Jennifer and Rushe 37-24. Black pulled off a total 4-0 victory against Gray and got 162-82 total points after Felina and Nhing crushed MJ and Susan 36-25, Irene and Cherry thrashed Marilou and Jade 48-13, Felina and Irene brushed aside MJ and Marilou 37-24 and Nhing with Cherry hammered Susan and Jade 41-20.
Aqua and Green collected 2 wins and 122 total points each . Green scored through Ayla and Emz who edged Thess and Jessa 32-29 while Yolanda and Emz outlasted Daisy and Jessa 32-29. Aqua bounced back through Elsie and Daisy who beat Beth and Yolanda 31-30 while Elsie and Thess overcame Beth and Ayla 33-28.
Lime collected a total 4-0 victory against Maroon and 155-89 total points as Beng and Sang thumped Belinda and Gren 36-25 while Jenny and Arlene overwhelmed Marivic and Stella 37-24, Beng and Jenny thrashed Belinda and Marivic and Sang with Arlene outclassed Gren and Stella 39-22.

Mixed C
Black earned the highest honor in Mixed C when they pulled off a 2-1 win and collected 7-3 points against Gold through Claudette Farthing and Wilma Nicolau who won by default against Mean Abris and Yvone Macaraig while Claudette with Anna Rodriguez wasted no time to beat Mean and Nancy Calderon 15-7, 15-10. Gold scored through Nancy and John Abris who overwhelmed Anna and Divina Camagay 15-7, 15-11.
Earlier that day, Black and Brown tied with 2 wins but Black scored 126-118 total points as Claudette and Anna brushed aside Arlene Cataquis and Carlo Nuque 36-25 while Wilma and Divina thumped Jornet Gonzales and Edelyn Ocampo 36-25. Brown won through Arlene and Jornet who thrashed Claudette and Wilma 37-24 while Carlo with Edelyn edged Anna and Divina 31-30.

Gold team completed a 3-1 win and got 136-108 points against Blue when Mean and Yvone outclassed Antonette Climaco and Kay Esplana 37-24 while Nancy and John brushed aside Ritz Montesclaros and Leala Palado 36-25 and the pair of Yvone and John crushed Kay and Leala 43-18. The tandem of Antonette and Ritz saved the day for Blue when they overcame Mean and Nancy 41-20.
Gold stayed in form and achieved a 3-1 win and collected 137-107 total points against Brown as Nancy and John wasted no effort to beat Carlo and Edelyn 44-17 while Mean and Nancy overcame Arlene and Carlo 34-27 and Yvone with John outclassed Jornet and Edelyn 39-22. Brown scored through Arlene and Jornet who thumped Mean and Yvone 41-20.

Black gathered a landslide 4-0 victory against Aqua and compiled 155-89 total points brought by Claudette and Wilma who brushed aside Richelle Patriarcha and Julie Ann Farell while Anna and Divina overpowered Paolo Nuque and JM Marasigan 40-21, Claudette and Anna thumped Richelle and Paolo 41-20 and Wilma with Divina crushed Julie and JM 38-23.
Blue and Brown tied with 2 wins each but Blue scored 124-120 points through Ritz and Leala who thrashed Carlo and Edlyn 42-19 while Antonette and Ritz hammered Arlene and Carlo 47-14. Brown bounced back through Arlene and Jornet who crushed Antonette and Kay 42-19 while Jornet and Edelyn overwhelmed Kay and Leala 45-16.
Gold claimed a 3-0 win and 147-76 total points against Aqua driven by Mean and Yvone who brushed aside Richelle and Julie 41-20 while Nancy and John outclassed Paolo and JM 44-17 and Yvone with John thumped Julie and JM 42-19.
