14 tons chicken, ‘bad’ water wasted
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: The Minister of Public Works, Minister of State for Municipality Affairs, Dr Fadhel Safar was recently quoted as saying the Kuwait Municipality is exerting all out efforts around the clock to arrest violators and refer them to the concerned authorities, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Meanwhile, the director of the Imported Foods Department at the Kuwait Municipality Istiqlal Al-Musallam said the violation index has fallen.
He also said personnel from the Municipality have destroyed 14.432 tons of chicken infected with salmonella and 30,000 liters of mineral water filled in bottles unsuitable for human consumption.
Bombs found: Acting on information bomb disposal experts rushed to the livestock pen in Salmi and moved to safety a large number of mortar bombs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The pen belongs to a Kuwaiti man and he called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior when he found 16 mortar bombs while digging in the area.
When police combed and searched the area, they found more bombs. The bombs are believed to be remnant of ordnances left behind by the defeated Iraqi army in 1991.
