Jailbreak by 3 Pakistanis, 2 Iranians foiled 18 casualty staff resign
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10: Security officers at the Central Jail foiled an attempt by three Pakistanis and two Iranians to escape. The convicts confessed they tried to flee from jail after receiving tools for digging and ropes.
A security source said the suspects are serving various sentences for drug trafficking and one of them proposed the method of escape, as they gained possession of the aforementioned tools. However, security officers acted on information about the prisoners plan to dig a hole to the prisons fence and flee. The suspects were referred for investigations.
In an unrelated development, eighteen employees of the Medical Emergency Department at the Ministry of Health (MoH) submitted their resignation last week allegedly in protest against the discrimination meted out to them in terms of salaries and allowances, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
An informed source said the employees have been demanding a pay package similar to that being paid to their counterparts in the National Guard and the oil companies.
