Municipality team destroys 210-kg spoiled food items, 150 liters milk

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 9: Personnel from the Inspection and Follow-up Department of the Ahmadi Municipality Branch during an inspection campaign on food outlets and markets in Al-Zour to ensure expired foodstuffs are not sold in the area and to ascertain that employees follow the health and hygiene regulations and comply with laws are said to have issued 46 citations, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting the Acting Director of Ahmadi Municipality Branch Fahd Al-Shutaili.
The daily added during the campaign the officers discovered some establishments had failed to renew their health certificates and some of them were selling foodstuffs unfit for human consumption.
During the campaign the officials are said to have destroyed 210 kilos of spoiled foodstuffs and 150 liters of cow and sheep milk.
The officials have also administratively closed one shop for committing a serious violation.

60 illegals arrested: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police during a crackdown on residence law violators inside the Al-Qurain markets area are said to have arrested 60 people — men and women — for violating residence laws, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
