Maids accused of stealing KD 1,070 jewellery
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 9: A Kuwaiti man has filed a case with the Mubarak Al-Kabir Police Station accusing two housemaids of stealing his wife’s gold jewelry worth KD 1,070, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In his complaint, the citizen said the maids escaped with the gold when no one was in the house. Police are looking for the maids.
Maid attempts suicide: An Asian maid who tried in vain to end her life by consuming a large quantity of medicine pills inside her sponsor’s apartment in Hawalli was rushed to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital and given stomach wash, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoted the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior received a report that the maid was in coma and soon paramedics were dispatched to the area and the victim was taken to the hospital.
Police are waiting for the maid to recover to interrogate her why she wanted to end her life.
Meanwhile, a case of attempted suicide has been registered against her.
Man held for KD 50K fraud: Personnel from the Sentences Enforcement Department have arrested an unidentified person who was wanted by law in connection with a KD 50,000 fraud, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Police records show the man was sentenced in absentia for three years in jail.
The daily added several MPs and senior officials tried in vain to intervene of his behalf.
The man has been handed over to the concerned authorities.
