Kuwaiti team set for 31st Pan Arab Golf Tourney

The Kuwait National Golf team will be heading to the Moroccan capital Rabat on Saturday Sept 10, to participate in the 31st pan Arab Golf Tournament, scheduled to kick off on Monday Sept 12 at the Royal Dar Es-Salam golf course. The Royal course is a long (7,462 yards) and arduous par 73, created by Robert Trent Jones and will be a good test for golfers representing their nations from all parts of the Arab world.
For the first time, two young Kuwaitis, aged 12, will be representing their country in one of the major tournaments of the year. Ali Al-Anasari and Julia Al-Hmoud, both local champions in their respective divisions, are the result of the 2 year old “Youth Program,” an ambitious program under the supervision of the Kuwait Golf Committee and duly sponsored by Agility Co and VIVA Kuwait. The Sahara Kuwait Resort has assisted the team in providing the golf course for coaching and practice. The Kuwait Golf Committee’s Youth Program” strives to develop and advance the sport of golf in the state of Kuwait.

The Kuwait Golf delegation is headed by Adbulaziz Al-Mulla, Kuwait Golf Committee Treasurer and member of the Arab Golf Federation Executive Committee. Taking charge of the team is Captain Bader Al-bannay, member of the Kuwait Golf Committee. The team comprises 8 golfers who have qualified through the annual Kuwait National Championship tournament. In the Open Age Division, 1. Bader Haider, 2. Majd Alansari, 3. Mazen Alansari, 4. Abdulrahman Bahman. In the Youth Division under 16, 1. Yousef Bahman, 2. Abdulaziz Alsaraawi, 3. Ali Alansari and the Ladies Division, Julia Alhmoud.
