Kuwaiti youth nabbed in kidnap, rape attempt on British woman
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: The Hawalli police have arrested an unemployed Kuwaiti youth for attempting to kidnap and rape a young British woman, reports Annahar daily.
The arrest came just 12 hours after a complaint was filed by the woman with the South Surra Police Station.
In her complaint the woman told the police the suspect tried in vain to force her into his vehicle at knifepoint.
During interrogation the youth admitted to the charge but said he did not use the knife but a cigarette lighter to frighten her.
The youth has been referred to the authorities.
5 held in vice den: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant the Khaitan police recently raided an apartment of ill repute and arrested five people — four Asian prostitutes and a Bangladeshi pimp — and referred them to authorities, reports Annahar daily.
Call traders nabbed: The Farwaniya police have arrested 11 Asian and Arab expatriates from a suburb of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh for robbing telephone lines and offering illegal overseas call services, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
During a raid on suspect apartments police are said to have confiscated wireless telephones, advanced communication devices, DSLs, computers and decoders and referred the illegal service providers to the authorities.
