Woman trying to save friend abuses police Flees after hitting patrol car
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti woman for damaging deliberately colliding with a police vehicle, verbally abusing police on duty, violating traffic laws and attempting to help a female compatriot to escape, reports Al-Anba daily.
A police source said this happened when two Kuwaiti women were riding in a Jeep and a police patrol ordered them to pull over.
The woman behind the wheel, refused and instead collided with the police vehicle, mounted the pavement and escaped driving in the opposite direction. They were chased by the police and forced to stop in Rumaithiya. The chase started on the Blajat Street in Salmiya.
The women then locked themselves inside the car and refused to get down. However, when the police threatened to tow the vehicle to the police garage with the women inside, they agreed to come out of the vehicle and surrendered to police.
When police checked their names on police computer, they discovered one of them was wanted by law for failing to pay KD 10,000 debt and had been sentenced in absentia.
She has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department and the other to the concerned authority for legal action.
