KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: Officers of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Investigations Department arrested three men —  two Syri-ans and a Kuwaiti —  for selling forged dollars.
Acting on a tip-off received by Assistant Unde-rsecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Sheikh Ahmad Al-Khalifa, a security team contacted the two Syrians and persuaded them to exchange KD 80,000 with $2.5 million.
The Syrians were arrested at the delivery spot in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh in possession of the forged dollars. During interrogation, they said a Kuwaiti working at the Ministry of Interior provides them the forged money. Police promptly arrested the Kuwaiti but he denied knowing the Syrians. Eventually, when police confronted him with the text messages and calls he made to them, he confessed the crime and said he receives forged currency from a fourth suspect who is yet to be arrested.
Thorough investigations are taking place to get to the bottom of the case and find out who all are involved in the scam.

Booze for sale?: A very naive bootlegger put up an advertisement near the entrance of a building in Mahboula, stating that he sells local-made vodka and even included his cell phone number, reports Al-Rai daily.
A journalist from Al-Rai daily made a phone call to the bootlegger who said he charges KD 10 per bottle of alcohol and offered to give a special discount if a large order is placed.  The bootlegger then made several calls to the journalist, asking him to come and made a call on the following day too.

Whisky in car: Police are looking for an unidentified person for driving under the influence of alcohol in Salmiya, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The drunkard left his car near a roundabout and called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry, saying police is towing his car and that he left KD 10,000 in the car.
Police, however, found two cartons of whisky in the car.
