‘Suitor’ cheats girl Boy escapes ‘rapists’
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: Police briefly detained an expatriate youth who allegedly promised to marry a girl after posing as a citizen and took KD 15,000 from her, reports Al-Rai daily.
The girl noticed that the youth had no intention of fulfilling his promise and hence, asked him to return her money but the latter allegedly refused to repay.
The girl filed a complaint and was shocked on learning about the youth’s real nationality. The father of the boyfriend was then summoned and he wrote a pledge, saying he would return the money.
The girl accepted the arrangement and withdrew the case.
Boy escapes ‘rapists’: Police are looking for two youths who allegedly tried to kidnap and rape another youngster, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The youngster was walking on a road in Wafra when the two youths stopped their car and offered to drive him to his home. The youngster accepted the offer, but on sensing the bad intentions of the other two, he jumped out of the moving car and sustained serious injuries.
‘Haaris’ turns thief: A Kuwaiti youth, 21, lodged a complaint at Rumaithiya Police Station, accusing the caretaker of a building of stealing furniture and other stuff from his flat, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The complainant said he requested the caretaker to sell the contents of the flat which the latter did but pocketed the proceeds. The caretaker will be summoned for questioning.
Trio held drunk: Police arrested three Kuwaitis for consuming alcohol and possessing bullets and other ammunition.
The trio was arrested at a police checkpoint in Salmiya when police smelt alcohol in their breath. Police also seized two bottles of alcohol from their possession and referred them to authorities.
