KUWAIT CITY, Sept 1: An Asian housemaid reportedly gave birth to a child in a house in Sulaibiya area and died immediately after. The woman allegedly had an affair with an Asian expatriate who, sources say, was present during the delivery.
On receiving information about the incident, police and Criminal Evidence Department officials rushed to the scene and referred the woman’s remains to Forensics to establish the cause of her death. Police, meanwhile, are searching for the expatriate to find out if he had any role to play in the woman’s death.
Fingerprints were lifted from the scene and investigations are going on.
In an unrelated development, anti-narcotics officers arrested two Kuwaitis for trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Acting on a tip-off, the officers put the suspects under surveillance. After gathering enough evidence, the officers raided the suspects’ flat in Salmiya where they found a large quantity of hashish. This led to the arrest of the two citizens who were referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
