Infant found abandoned in vacant house Thieves take jewelry in Jahra robbery
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 1: An infant, barely 50 days old, was found abandoned in a vacant house in Abdullah Mubarak area.
Acting on information, police and paramedics rushed to the scene and referred the baby to Farwaniya Hospital. The baby is said to be in good condition. Investigations are going on to arrest the person who left the child in the house.
Jewelry stolen: Thieves broke into the house of a Kuwaiti man in south Jahra and escaped with jewelry worth KD 2,000. The Kuwaiti filed a report at Taima Police Station and said he discovered the theft when he returned back home. Investigations are going on.
Man held with drugs: Police arrested a Kuwaiti man in possession of hashish and other narcotic pills in Salmiya area. Patrol officers had stopped the man for inspection and eventually learnt that he was wanted in several criminal cases and was sentenced to prison. The Kuwaiti was referred to authorities for further action.
Fire in Salmiya: A firefighter developed breathing problems while extinguishing a fire that broke out in a seventh-floor flat of a building in Salmiya area. He was referred to Mubarak Hospital for treatment.
Firemen had got the whole building evacuated and brought the fire under control. In a separate incident, firefighters doused a fire that broke out in a vehicle in Thaher area. There were no reports of casualties and sources say the fire was caused due to an electric short circuit.
