Lankan woman, 2 men held for manufacturing, trading in liquor
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant, securitymen from the Farwaniya governorate raided an apartment in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and arrested a Sri Lankan woman for manufacturing and trading in alcohol, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The woman is believed to be in her 50s. Police have also taken into custody two men for helping the bootlegger to sell the booze.
Police are said to have confiscated booze manufacturing equipment, 25 bottles of booze ready for sale and referred the trio to the authorities.
Fight traps beggar: Police have taken into custody an unidentified woman for begging. She was reportedly caught near a mosque in Messilah, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added the arrest happened when two groups of women were involved in a fight. One group reportedly sympathized with the beggar and the other group accused her of taking advantage of the holy month of Ramadan.
The issue was solved when female police officers rushed to the spot and separated the fighters.
Man betrays trust: A Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the Fahaheel Police Station accusing an unidentified Egyptian representative of a real estate company of trust of betrayal, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to the complainant the representative was in charge of collecting rent and he is said to have left the country with KD 5,000 rent money.
Unjust behavior: Policemen from the Khaitan Police Station recently protested the behavior of the head of the security area and head of police station, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
They called the behavior unjust, uncalled for and unreasonable because the superior punishes late comers by cutting their eight days salary.
Director of the Farwaniya Security Directorate is said to have intervened and promised to solve the problem following which the policemen ended their strike.
