Keralite ( Malayali) maid held in India - Theft in Kuwait Expat not guilty of immoral act in public

KOCHI, India, Aug 27: A Malayali woman who escaped after robbing gold ornaments worth 10 sovereigns from an apartment in Kuwait was arrested by the Kochi city police on Friday.
The arrested has been identified as Fazila, 32, of Palluruthy. She was arrested by a police team led by Mattancherry assistant commissioner M Binoy and Palluruthy circle inspector K Sajeev.
The police said that Fazila was working as a maid in the apartment of Biji Shanthan in Kuwait. Biji Shanthan hails from Vaikom in Kottayam district.
According to the police, it was on July 24 that Fazila left the apartment after casually mentioning that her husband back in Kerala was not well.
As she did not return the next day for work, Biji Shanthan enquired about her and found that she had left Kuwait for Kerala. On suspicion, Biji Shanthan conducted a search for her valuables at home and found that the gold ornaments kept inside an almirah were missing. inside an almirah were missing.

Expat not guilty: The Appeals Court upheld the verdict of a lower court and acquitted an expatriate of charges of committing an immoral act in public.
The suspect’s lawyer Abdul Rahman Al-Houti said the case was full of contradictions and probabilities and that investigations were not conducted properly. He praised the Kuwaiti judiciary for its integrity and its justness.
