"Smallest thief in Kuwait" pinches pricy item from the shop

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: A theft case has been registered against a 5-year-old Kuwaiti child in North Jahra Police Station, reports Al-Anba daily.
A police source said the ‘smallest thief in Kuwait’ had innocently shoplifted an electronic device worth KD 3,000. The source added that when the alarm at the shop went off, the guards checked the mother’s bags but could not find any unpaid stuff. Guards later found the electronic device with the child and CCTV footage showed that that he acted independently and was innocently acting as if he was shopping.
The management of the shop forgave the child, but a case was registered against him nonetheless.

Drugs kill man: A 36-year-old Kuwaiti man died of drug overdose inside his house, reports Al-Anba daily.
Sources say as soon as the victim’s family called the Operations Room, policemen from Jabriya Police Station rushed to the place. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department found a syringe and a white substance, believed to be heroin, beside the remains of the victim.

Caught by chance: Ahmadi police arrested a Kuwaiti man in Jaber Al-Ali area for consuming and possessing drugs, reports Al-Anba daily.
Police had stopped the man and asked him to show his identification documents. When the suspect opened his wallet, policemen saw a piece of hashish inside. Policemen then checked the records and learnt that the man was wanted by law for his involvement in a theft and that he was sentenced in absentia to 12 months in jail.

Youth stabbed
: Police are looking for unidentified youngsters for fighting and stabbing a youth in the parking lot of Rumaithiya Cooperative Society, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Police rushed to the scene after the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received information about shooting in the area. Police found a youth with stab injury, said sources, adding a knife and Kalashnikov bullets were beside him.
The youngsters were reportedly trying to settle an earlier dispute.

Car thief caught: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man believed to be in his 20s, for stealing cars parked in Salmiya, particularly cars left in operational condition, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A police source said a Lebanese woman lodged a complaint, saying a thief drove away her car and took along with it her cell phones and the passports of her family. She said she parked her car for a few minutes opposite a pharmacy in Salmiya when the thief got in and sped off.
Securitymen laid a trap and arrested the thief while he tried to play the same game with another woman who left her car in front of the pharmacy.
Police also recovered the cell phones and passports of the Lebanese woman from the thief.
