KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: Erwin Mercado and Nestor Farinas led the way in the top two categories after all the competitors completed their 12 matches in the 3rd week of Reggie Ramos Cup at the Kazma Handball Gym, in Adailiya, Friday. With the completion of all the elimination round matches, where all the competitors were paired with different players for every match, the tournament now moves into the next round which will see permanent pairings. In each of these categories, the pairs will be based on the position they finished in the initial round with the No. 1 in the Higher section joining hands with the No.1 in the Lower section. While Mercado and Farinas took the top spots in Men’s Higher A (Higher) and Men’s Higher A (Lower) respectively, Dennis Malay and Marianne Salunga were the best in Men’s Lower A (Higher) and Men’s Lower A (Lower).

Mark Revaca led the way in Men’s Higher B while Noel Zagada was the best in Men’s Lower B, Enrique Macarandang in Men’s Higher C, Andrei Varilla in Men’s Lower C, Ronilo Fuentes in Mixed Higher C, Jennifer Brosas in Mixed Lower C, Glen Fabunan in Mixed Higher D, Sherwin Perez in Mixed Lower D, Princess Joy in Ladies Higher D and Maria Fe Bagasao in Ladies Lower D.
Meanwhile, players also saw action in the second tournament —“Tammy Solaiman Cup”, organized by Alpha Phi Omega Kuwait Alumni Association (APO KAA-153) – at the same venue.
These two tournaments would not have been possible without the efforts of FILBACK Founding Chairman Caloy Abesamis along with FILBACK Director Leo Regner, FILBACK Tournament Director Renato Calanog, Alpha Phi Omega Kuwait Alumni Association (APO KAA-153) and all their office bearers who have been working very hard to consistently deliver non-stop competition for all the members of the two organizations.
As some of the players were missing for their games, they were replaced by substitutes – called jokers—from the same or lower categories.

Men’s Higher A
In Men’s Higher A (H), Erwin Mercado finished on top with 560 points while Windrow Bugas had 506 points and Mathew Jacob 504 points.
The Higher A (L) saw Nestor Farinas leading the way with 518 points while Roy Satorre had 502 points and Harinath Gadikota 490 points.
