Marijuana seized as police nab two Bangladeshi drug peddlers Drug overdose kills 35 in 8 months: report

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 23: The Sulaibikhat police have arrested two Bangladeshis, identified only as Jashem and Jouhil, believed to be 42 and 36 years old respectively, for trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports when the men were taken into custody they were in possession of a quantity of marijuana.
However, a police source said the arrest followed intensive investigations about the activity of the suspects.
The daily added the cops armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, raided their home in Rabiya and caught them in possession of the drugs.
The contraband and the traffickers have been referred to the authorities.

35 killed: According to statistics issued by the General Department for Criminal Investigation 35 people have died following overdose of drugs over the past eight months, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable sources.
The same sources said 41 people had died in 2010 as a result of overdose of drugs.

Recycled stamps
: Police from the Capital governorate have arrested two Asians for selling recycled revenue stamps, reports Al-Anba daily.
The arrest came following a tip-off from an unidentified person. The police armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor, raided their home and seized from them 63 recycled stamps.
According to reports both men work for a government organization and during interrogation they admitted to removing the stamps from old documents.
They have been referred to the concerned authorities.

Cables stolen: Police have arrested an Iranian man and are believed to be looking for four bedoun youths for stealing copper cables belonging to an Iranian man, reports Al-Anba daily.
A police source said the Iranian in his complaint to the Taima police station in Jahra said the youths assaulted him and drove off with his lorry with copper cables believed to be worth KD 4,000.
Following the complaint, police began looking for the suspects and the vehicle. They found the charred remains of the vehicle in a desert in Jahra.
Police investigations led to the arrest of the Iranian at the Amghara Scrapyard. Police are also said to have recovered the stolen cables.
During interrogation the Iranian admitted to paying the bedoun KD 400 to steal the copper from the compatriot.

Student cheated: An unid-entified expatriate is said to have cheated a Kuwaiti student of the Kuwait University to the tune of KD 5,000, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to the daily the victim hails from a wealthy family and the suspect convinced him to join him in a profitable business venture. The latter fell for the trap and contributed KD 5,000 only to discover the man after receiving the money left the country.
However, he waited for the man to return to Kuwait in the belief he was on vacation. However, after he was convinced the man may not return to the country, he filed a complaint with the police.
The suspect is believed to be an academician and worked at the Kuwait University.
