13,829 teachers earning KD 1,000 said to receive KD 50 allowance MoE completes procedures for new recruitment
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 23: An estimated 13, 829 teachers of both sexes — earning KD 1,000 and above — have been given an additional KD 50 allowance. The allowances with their August salaries were transferred to their accounts in the banks Monday, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Speaking to reporters, the Minister of Education Ahmad Al-Mulaifi said KD 22, 915,000 was allotted for the project.
Meanwhile, Al-Moustaqbal has reported that the Director of Charities and Foundations in Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Nasser Al-Ammar has recorded no violations or excesses in the donations collected during Ramadan.
In another development, the Ministry of Education has completed the procedures for the recruitment of expatriate teachers, except for 25 Syrians who backed out at the last minute for various reasons, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting Undersecretary Tamadar Al-Sedairawi.
The undersecretary made the statement after her recent meeting with the committee tasked to prepare for the next academic year. She said the ministry is waiting for the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to approve 2,100 employment slots for the ministry to appoint expatriate teachers
Al-Sedairawi confirmed the ministry intends to hire expatriate and Kuwaiti teachers locally because those recruited from other countries are still finalizing their transactions to be able to work in Kuwait.
During the meeting, the panel also asked the educational zones to assign companies for cleaning the water reservoirs in schools as part of the maintenance contract and in compliance with the health and sanitation regulations.
She added the panel also discussed the distribution of books and furnishing new schools after the Eid Al-Fitr holidays, Al-Sedairawi concluded.
