Ramadan sees rise in prices: poll
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: Seventy-five percent of a random sample of respondents from various social strata polled recently by Al-Seyassah daily said the prices of commodities increased during the holy month of Ramadan, while 20 percent believe the prices are the same and five percent refused to give their opinion.
Results of the survey showed that majority of the respondents attribute the price hike to the increase in demand during the holy month, especially for the food items. Those who think the prices are the same pointed out that the strict supervision by the Ministry of Commerce and its commitment to prevent greedy traders from manipulating the prices have greatly contributed in averting unreasonable price hikes throughout the holy month.
