Be vigilant to preserve national security: Amir ‘Armed forces ready’
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, accompanied by HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the deputy head of National Guard Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, visited headquarters of the Army’s General Chief of Staff on Friday evening.
Sheikh Sabah, in a speech, called on senior officers of the armed forces to be vigilant vis-a-vis the “tragic” situations in the Arab world in order “to preserve the security and stability of our country.” He said it was their duty to defend their country.
“These accute regional and international circumstances that we are currently witnessing compel you and your brothers in all sectors in the army, police and national guard to be vigilant and firmly confront anyone who seeks to harm our national security,” asserted Sheikh Sabah.
He added he was confident the armed forces of Kuwait were ready to confront any urgent situation.
The Amir was received by first Deputy Premier and Defense Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Chief of Staff General Ahmad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, his deputy General Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah and Defense Ministry Undersecretary Jassar Abdulrazzaq Al-Jassar.
Chief of Staff General Al-Sabah underlined that the armed forces were keen on defending the sovereignty of Kuwait against any aggressor.
He said they were working hard to upgrade the fighting capabilities of the Kuwaiti army and to be equipped with the latest weaponry.
Sheikh Sabah was accompanied by Deputy Minister of the Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Director of His Highness the Amir’s Office Ahmad Fahad Al-Fahad, acting Undersecretary of the Amir Diwan and head of the Amiri protocols Sheikh Khaled Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of HH the Crown Prince’s Diwan Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal Al-Sabah, Sheikh Majed Al-Jaber Al-Homoud Al-Sabah, Sheikh Abdullah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
