Traffic policeman issues citation against bad breath Trio acquitted in kidnap charges
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16: In the first incident of its kind, a traffic policeman issued a citation against an Arab motorist for having bad breath, reports Al-Anba daily.
A police source said it is a very strange incident and problematic too because the penalty is not known. “Will the motorist be fined; if so, how much will he have to pay and if his car is impounded, how long will it be in the police garage?” he asked.
Incidentally, it is also mentioned on the citation that the motorist admitted that his mouth smells.
Trio acquitted in kidnap charges: The Appeals Court upheld the verdict of the First Instance Court and acquitted three Gulf nationals of kidnapping and molesting an underage girl.
However, reasons behind their acquittal were not given. The public prosecution revealed that the girl called one of the defendants-also known as her boyfriend, to drive her home from a wedding hall, after the father had driven her there. The girl reportedly boarded the boyfriend’s car and saw another man inside the car with him. It was then the boyfriend had allegedly tried to molest her.
The girl is said to have been driven home by a third man, who is also a friend of the boyfriend, but only after her father had filed a complaint at the police station reporting the kidnapping of his daughter.
Detention extended: The Cassation Court, presided over by Judge Abdulrahman Al-Drami, decided to adjourn until Sept 6th hearing in the case of Nasser Abul who is accused of criticizing GCC countries on his Twitter account. The State Security filed charges against him for harming Kuwait’s relations with other GCC countries. The court extended the detention of the suspect and called the official in charge of preparing the report of criminal evidences to be present during the next hearing.
Abul denied all accusations in front of the prosecution and the judge. He said hackers managed to enter his account and wrote the offensive remarks. He added that when he came to know of the remarks, he deleted them through his cell phone.
