Khalil & Mardo lead in shooting Toyota Al Sayer organizes sports fest for employees

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 13: In celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Toyota Al Sayer management has arranged a special sports festival for their employees to honor them for the contribution that their staff members make to the organization throughout the year.
These events are one of many sports and other recreation activities organized for the Al-Sayer staff every year to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the staff and break the daily work routine in order to improve their overall performance.
With the organizers putting in a lot of effort to ensure that all these events run smoothly, there has been a whole-hearted response from the staff to not only avail this opportunity to prove that they are also good in various sports activities but also to ensure that these “family-affairs” meet the success that they deserve.

Although only the staff of one organization are involved in all these events, the level of competition and sportsmanship displayed by all the participants has been really high with the entrants in various events putting in their best to win the prizes that awarded were to all those who took the top honors in the individual as well as the team tournaments.
So far, the sports festival — which started in the first week of the holy month of Ramadan, has seen action in a shooting tourney, a bowling competition and also a basketball championship with the staff members this week showing a lot of interest in all the three tournaments with results so far available only for the first two events.

Al-Sayer 5th Shooting Tournament
The shooting competition has drawn a lot of competitors and the organizers expect 80 participants to take to various ranges over the four Fridays with a group of 20 staff members shooting on each day during the month of Ramadan.
These shooters have already seen action on Aug 5 and 12 and will take to the range on Aug 19 and 26. All these shooters are competing in only 2 categories (Pistol 9 mm and Rifle Hornet 22). Some of these shooters seem to have been on the range quite a lot while others are just novices who are trying to prove that they possess a steady arm and a keen eye for the targets.
The organizers have decided that three shooters from each category on each Friday will qualify for the finals with a total of 24 competitors vying for the top honors on the championship’s last day which will take place on Sept 9, 2011.

On the first day of the event it was Hasan Khalil who proved to be the best when he topped the Pistol 9 mm section with an excellent score of 45 points with the next shooter 4 points off the pace. In this category four persons qualified for the next round as there were two shooters who were jointly placed third.
Meanwhile, in the Rifle Hornet 22 category, Froilan Mardo found the going to his liking and showed that he is going to be a very tough act to beat when he finished far ahead of the other competitors as the gunman in second place was 14 points off in the distance with the next shooter another 14 points away.

Al-Sayer 6th Bowling Tournament
The bowling tournament is also seeing a lot of action with the organizers accepting a total of 80 participants. With such a large number of entrants groups of 20 staff members are taking to the bowling lanes each Friday during the month of Ramadan with action already having taken place on Aug 5 and 12 to be followed by players again competing with each other on Aug 19 and 26.
Five of the best players from each Friday’s completion will qualify for the finals which will see 20 players in action vying for the top honors on Sept 9, 2011 at the Kozmo bowling lanes in Keifan.
The top 6 bowlers in the finals will be given awards, according to the organizers.
In the first week of the event, Michael Samson took the top honors after compiling 283 points from the two games in which all the players saw action.
Samson took the top honors after a tough fight with Jolly Noquera who offered a lot of competition right to the very end and only finished four points off the pace for second position.
