14 bags containing cash vanish into thin air Police probe loss of KD 67,000

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: Security operatives from Ahmadi governorate are still investigating mysteries behind the disappearance of 14 bags containing KD 67,000 from a vehicle transferring money to a bank in Mahboulah area.

The Asian driver of the vehicle and his Egyptian companion reportedly discovered the money had disappeared from the vehicle without any sign of a break in, so they notified security authorities without delay.
During interrogation, the men said they collected money from various petrol pumps, parked the van in front of an apartment in Mahboulah to break their fast.

Later, they discovered that 14 out of the 15 bags containing money they collected had mysteriously disappeared from the van.

In another development, the Kuwait Municipality (Hawalli branch) has reportedly destroyed 51 tons of spoiled foodstuff over the past six months, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting sources from the Municipality.

The sources added this Municipality branch has also closed down 50 shops for violating laws and regulations and not abiding by hygiene conditions. The officials are also said to have issued 1,390 citations.
