Payment of shift allowance to doctors suspended
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: Ministry of Health (MoH) Undersecretary Dr Ibrahim Al-Abdulhadi has ordered the suspension of the payment of shift allowance to delegated doctors or those who were transferred to the central technical departments and are not in charge of the shift, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting sources.
Sources said the undersecretary has clarified that only those holding supervisory posts, either through delegation or transfer, are entitled to the shift allowance.
In another development, Abdulhadi has extended the period for the temporary work of the committee tasked to revise reports and schedules on the health survey for Kuwait. Sources revealed the panel was formed according to administrative decision number 249/2011, which is valid until December.
Renowned dermatologist Dr Reem Al-Hamad has advised the public to avoid long exposure to the sun during summer to avoid certain diseases like freckles and skin cancer, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Al-Hamad pointed out the sun is considered an ‘enemy’ of the skin, especially in summer; hence, the need to use sun block or sunscreen and avoid exposure to the sun for long hours. She said other skin problems common during summer include sweaty armpits and acne. She recommended the regular use of cream, scrub and cleansing lotions or liquids to maintain healthy skin.
