Nepali maid screams, frightens away kidnappers
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 7: Police are looking for two men for attempting to kidnap a runaway Nepali housemaid, reports Al-Rai daily.
The incident happened in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. The housemaid was allegedly standing by the roadside waiting for ‘someone’ and two men riding in a taxi offered to take her to her destination.
When the maid did not pay attention to the men, one of them reportedly got out of the vehicle and tried to push her inside the cab.
She screamed for help and when an unidentified garage owner came to her rescue, the men escaped.
Car broken into: Thieves broke into a vehicle belonging to a Kuwaiti citizen and stole wallet and a mobile phone in Mishref area. The man has since registered a case against the unknown thief.
600 kilos fish destroyed: Chairman of the Imported Foods Department at the Kuwait Municipality, Istiqlal Al-Muslim, has disclosed the Municipality inspectors manning the Al-Nuwaiseeb border post have confiscated and destroyed 600 kilos of fish, reports Al-Anba daily.
The official said the fish was imported from an unidentified neighboring country and it was unfit for human consumption.
