‘Fun’ party holder held Police hunt 3 youths in kidnap, rape of Filipino KUWAIT CITY, July 30: Police are looking for three youngsters who kidnapped a 24-year old Filipino man and successively raped him in an open area near the Pilgrims’ Rest House, reports Al-Anba daily. The Filipino was found in critical condition and he was referred to Al-Jahra hospital for medical attention.
Party holder held: Based on a tip-off, police rushed to an apartment in Hawalli and arrested an individual for consuming alcohol and holding fun party inside his apartment, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A police source said the drunkard had invited several friends to celebrate his birthday and got angry when he saw an invitee kissing and hugging his girlfriend. The drunkard became enraged and started shouting, as he ran after his girlfriend and the guest. Neighbors, who were being disturbed, called police and the drunkard was arrested, high on alcohol.
2 held with drugs: Police have arrested two youths for the possession of narcotic pills, reports Al-Rai daily. The two youths were traveling off Coastal Road when a patrol team from Ahmadi asked them to stop for checking. One of the two youths tried to escape on foot, but police chased and arrested him. They went on to conduct a search and found sachets of heroin and other narcotic pills inside the car.
Asian held with liquor: Police apprehended a Bangladeshi man for the possession and consumption of alcohol, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The drunkard was arrested at a security checkpoint as police smelt alcohol from his mouth during questioning. They conducted a search inside his car and found 4 bottles of whisky and KD 400. The suspect claimed he had won money in gambling.
Traffic crackdown: Hawalli Traffic police launched an intensive campaign against traffic law violators in Salmiya and placed wheel locks on 60 vehicles and issued citations against their owners, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Building on fire: Firefighters from Salmiya and Hawalli brigades extinguished a fire that engulfed an abandoned building in Hawalli, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. It is reported that fire spread to the second and third floors of the building but no casualties were registered.
Motorist hurt in mishap: An unidentified motorist was seriously injured in a road traffic accident along Fahaheel Expressway opposite Mishref, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. Apparently, the motorist lost control over his car, swerving and subsequently landed upside down. The motorist has since been referred to a hospital for medical attention. Sources said the road was blocked to traffic for some time before it returned to normal.
