Cleric-saint commander
IN HIS recent speech on ‘Divine Support’, Hasan Nasrallah has added another ‘feather’ to his cleric-saint ‘cap’ — the commander-in-chief — which implies there is no president or parliament speaker in Lebanon.
How can a reasonable person listen to or believe someone who talks about protecting the interests of Lebanon — someone who holds in high esteem the ‘killers’ of slain former president Rafiq Hariri … someone who glorifies murder, killings and crime and has pushed Lebanon to the brink of civil war?
He is nothing but the chief of an outlaw gang, whose place should be in prison. He should not be the one to issue orders from behind the curtain.
This megalomaniac behaves according to his whims. He recognizes Israel when he wishes and draws a line in the sea to mark economic borders for Lebanon. He probably acts as and when he gets orders from Tehran.
He arrogated to himself the position of the head of the higher defense council thus undermining the basic duty of the state of protecting its sovereignty and defending its borders through armed forces.
He asked the international oil companies to recognize him as the provider of security as if the nation does not even exist.
Whoever listened to the recent speech of Hasan Nasrallah would have not failed to recognize the ‘threatening’ tone he used against the state when he said he is waiting for the ‘state’ to talk about the sea border. The question is: What if the state fails to adhere to the time limit set by this ‘commander-in-chief’?
Are we going to see a repeat scenario of May 7, 2008 — coup in all state institutions when entire Lebanon virtually became a mere military base along the sea shores for Iran with pirates taking over and regional racketeering becoming the order of the day?
It is only in Lebanon that we see a gang dictating terms to the state. Thanks to Hasan Nasrallah for hijacking decisions. Backed by Iran, he and his party have prevented the emergence of a strong sovereign nation in order to guarantee their stronghold.
They control the pulse of the political and economic pace in Lebanon through their devilish ways and justify their armed struggle although no one is fooled by their antics.
The control of oil resources in the Lebanese waters by Hasan Nasrallah is not to preserve national interests but to rekindle the hope of his subjects following the huge disappointment which came in the form of a revolt against the government in Syria.
The conspiracy in Bahrain also tasted a bitter failure followed by the infiltration of its intelligence units and lastly revelation by the International Court of Justice the names of top political figures and media men as murderers of Hariri.
Sheikh Nasrallah, the Lebanese people have not appointed you their guardian. Lebanon has capable men who can solve the problems of their country far away from the hysteria of megalomania that pushes you to confront the international community with the gangster logic.
It is time you realized this fact. Moreover, you cannot escape international justice for life. A warrant for your arrest is in the offing and it is then you will realize the crime you have committed against your people and your country.
