Cellphone under pillow stolen Four Asian women held for bootlegging KUWAIT CITY, July 14: Police have taken into custody four Asian women for bootlegging. They were caught manufacturing liquor inside an old building in Khaitan, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The daily quoting security sources said police acting on information from a secret agent raided the apartment and caught the women red-handed and referred them and the equipment to the concerned authorities.During interrogation the women are said to have confessed to their crime.
Syrian held for ‘dud cheque’: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Capital governorate (Money Crimes Department) have arrested a Syrian man for issuing a dud cheque and several other financial cases, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The suspect was taken in custody from a suburb of Khaitan at a police check point. He has been referred to the concerned authorities.
Maid attempts suicide: An unidentified Asian maid has been referred for investigation for allegedly attempting to commit suicide, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to reports the woman had locked herself inside a room in Salmiya and she threatened to end her life. Police after receiving information rushed to her apartment and convinced her to give up the idea. The daily did not give more details about the incident.
Cellphone under pillow stolen: An Indian man has filed a complaint with the police at an unidentified police station accusing his roommates of stealing his cellphone, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to the complainant he kept the phone under his pillow when he went to bed but when he woke up he found it missing. The roommates will be summoned for interrogation.
3 citizens hurt: Three Kuwaitis were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Sabah Al-Salem, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to security sources the accident was caused by a speeding motorist. He reportedly crashed into the vehicle of the victims and their vehicle ran out of control and crashed into a lamppost. The victims have been admitted to the Adan Hospital. The other motorist is detained at the area police station.
Disaster averted: Timely arrival of firemen prevented a disaster at a petrol station in Ishbiliya when a car went up in flames, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The cause of the fire is not known.
Man held for alcohol use: Police have arrested an Asian man for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The man was found unconscious on a street in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. He has been referred to the authorities.
Ex-husband kidnaps kids: A Kuwaiti woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the police accusing her ex-husband of kidnapping her children, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. In her complaint to the police the woman said the custody of the children was given to the suspect and he requested to take the children out for a picnic. However, when the children did not come home at the specified hour, she tried to call the husband but found his cell phone switched off. Police will summon the man for interrogation.
