‘Probe embezzlement case’ Attorney files case against Scope TV

KUWAIT CITY, July 5: MP Naji Abdulhadi acting to news reports in Al-Rai daily about embezzlement of money in Kuwait’s Cultural Office in Los Angeles in the United States of America, has called on the government to form an investigation committee, reports Al-Rai daily.
Abdulhadi has requested the government particularly Minister of Education and Higher Education Ahmed Mulaifi to speed up the issue and summon the concerned official for interrogation and know the reason why a female US employee has resigned from her job.
Meanwhile, MP Dr Waleed Al-Tabtabaei has requested the government to protect the Kuwaiti official until he is proven guilty.
Attorney Mohammad Menwer Al-Mutairi has filed a complaint with the Attorney-General accusing the Board Chairman of the Scope Satellite TV channel, Director of a TV program and columnist at the Al-Watan Arabic daily Nabil Al-Fadhl of humiliating his tribe during an interview on May 23, 2011, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily did not give more details.


KD 280 withdrawn from account: A Kuwaiti citizen in his 30s filed a case in a police station and reported that he received SMS from his bank which said KD 280 had been withdrawn from his account, few hours after he lost his bank card at a commercial complex in Doha area. A case was registered.


Thieves raid Kuwaiti’s home: Thieves raided the home of a Kuwaiti citizen, scattered his belongings and made away with KD 1000 cash. Police have since registered a case for investigation, while fingerprints were lifted from the house to trail the thieves.


Residence violators nabbed: Two Asian residency law violators have been referred to the concerned authority after patrolmen spotted them in Jahra area and called them for questioning and later discovered they had no valid papers, besides absconding cases that had been registered against them.
