Syrian wife transfers residency Man held for harassing woman KUWAIT CITY, July 2: A Kuwaiti man recently visited Al-Rai daily to narrate the story of his Syrian wife who managed to transfer her residency without his knowledge, reports the daily.
The man said he married the Syrian 12 years ago and she gave birth to a boy and a girl. The husband said he bought a house for the wife in Syria which cost him KD 18,000 in addition to a beauty salon in a commercial complex in Kuwait.
The husband said he was informed by his maid that the wife was cheating on him and added that it might be true because the woman left the family house with the two children and transferred her residency.
The husband appealed to the interior minister to open an investigation into the issue and find out how his wife transferred her residence and who helped her.
Car catches fire at fuel station: A four-wheel drive vehicle caught fire in a petrol station in Abdullah Al-Salem area, but the timely arrival of firefighters prevented the fire from spreading and causing a major disaster, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Sources say firemen swiftly brought the fire under control.
Matchmaker’s bag stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified person who stole a bag from a Kuwaiti man’s car, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Kuwaiti filed a complaint in a police station in Jahra, saying documents containing detailed information about nearly 2,000 women and girls who desire to get married were there in the bag. The man, believed to be matchmaker, said the bag also contained information about men who wish to marry. He expressed fears that the thief might post such confidential information on the Internet.
Man held for harassing woman: Police have arrested a youngster for harassing a woman working in a polyclinic in Ahmadi, reports Al-Rai daily.
The woman noticed that the youth followed her from her home in Fintas until her work place and then started flirting with her and urged her to commit immoral acts. She called police who promptly rushed to the place and referred the youth to authorities.
Parked car stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified person who stole a Kuwaiti man’s car parked in an open ground in Sulaibiya, reports Al-Rai daily.
The owner said the car is old but expressed fears that it might be used for committing crimes.
