Indian held for bootlegging Asian man unable to make use of amnesty

KUWAIT CITY, July 1: An Asian man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was unable to leave the country during the amnesty period because he claims his passport has been stolen by unidentified persons, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a security source, the Asian claimed he had made all arrangements to leave the country and got his passport stamped by the General Immigration Department but was unable to leave due to the theft of the passport. He has submitted documents to prove his passport has been stolen.
The source added the General Immigration Department has asked the Asian to bring a document from the embassy to enable him to leave the country.

Indian held for bootlegging : The Ahmadi police have arrested an unidentified Indian man for bootlegging, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting security sources said a police patrol on duty saw the suspect driving along a road in Mangaf and ordered him to pull over for routine inspection.
When the cops asked the man to show his ID, the latter looked nervous and police decided to search his car.
During the inspection, police found 10 bottles of liquor hidden in the trunk of the car. He has been referred to the Fahaheel Police Station.
