I’m working as a draughtsman, getting a salary of KD 250, university graduate and staying in Kuwait for more than 2 years. My profession is mentioned as ‘Draughtsman (Rasaam)’ on my work permit. I’ve two questions.

1. Is the ‘Technical Staff (Al Jihaz Al Funnee)’ in the exemption list for Kuwait driving license?
2. My residency is going to expire. If my company changes my profession on the work permit from ‘Rasaam’ to ‘Al Jihaz Al Funnee,’ will I get a driving license?

Answer: No, you can’t get a driving license. First of all that profession is not on the exemption list and secondly the Traffic Dept is also restricting issuance of licenses even for those on the exemption list. You also don’t meet the salary condition of earning at least KD 400 a month.
