Alliance of two chairmen Some questions remain unanswered
AFTER the resignation of Sheikh Ahmad Fahd and the signing of a document calling for the resignation of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah by 16 lawmakers, some questions remain unanswered: Was Sheikh Ahmad the only problem or there are more that cannot be solved through his resignation from the government?
HH the Prime Minister, you stood on the grilling podium in a closed-door session and this is the third time that you have done so. The other interpellation, which was supposed to be carried out in public, has been referred to the Constitutional Court.
Another grilling motion which will be submitted on Thursday will be included in the agenda of the next term according to the National Assembly speaker.
This is a clear evidence of the alliance between the two chairmen. I wish the alliance is in the interest of democracy and the citizens. It should not weaken the Constitution, since we all know the majority voted in favor of the government.
A total of 25 lawmakers voted in favor of the closed-session, preventing the Kuwaitis from witnessing the interrogation.
They have deprived the voters of the right to hear the response of the premier rather than depending on information leaked to the media.
One says the prime minister responded adequately to the queries, while another claims he failed.
Everyone recognizes the right of lawmakers to grill erring ministers as guaranteed by the Constitution.
HH the Prime Minister, we want to draw your attention to the behavior of one of your ministers, Ali Al-Rashed, who has been attacking the lawmakers as if he is inside a boxing arena, not the Abdullah Al-Salem Hall.
He pretends to have forgotten that he reached his position through the voters, in addition to the practices of the assistant undersecretaries you appoint every week, most of who reside in the minister’s constituency.
I think the administrative structure of the state is being demolished under your watch. Kuwait does not deserve the troubles created by some government officials to serve their personal interests, while disregarding competence and awareness.
This is just part of the whole. HH the Prime Minister, can you stop the flow of blood and the destruction?
As for the press statements, these are just for the media and are useless. We want tangible steps taken in all sectors like education and health.
I doubt if this will work because your team does not help you and the people are the victims.
On the other hand, Al-Rashed, I want you to call the ministers who stood against the interests of the Kuwaitis to satisfy the government. Where are they now? How do the people remember them?
The state threw them out when they were no longer needed. My advice then is you must be wise and remember that you reached this position through the people.
