Deportation for 11 expats caught in vice den swoop Woman assaults cop

KUWAIT CITY, June 20: The Jahra police have arrested 11 expatriates — eight of them believed to be prostitutes and three men who had gone to seek pleasure, reports Al-Anba daily.
This happened during a raid on a ‘vice’ den in Al-Na’aim, Jahra. According to security sources police raided the place when a Kuwaiti man suspected his maid had been kidnapped by unidentified persons and held hostage inside the apartment.
The cops did not find the maid. A police source said all the arrested persons were under the influence of alcohol.
All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authorities to prepare their deportation from the country.

Verdict overturned: The Court of Appeals recently overturned the verdict of the lower court, which sentenced a Kuwaiti man to six months in jail and abstained from issuing a verdict on another compatriot suspect for allegedly swindling two persons to the tune of KD 154, 000, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. Based on contradictions in the testimonies of the complainants and witnesses, the court acquitted the two Kuwaitis.

Lawyer robbed: Police are looking for an unidentified person who allegedly broke into the vehicle of a lawyer and stole documents belonging to a firm and his wallet containing KD 500 and civil ID, reports Al-Rai daily.
The incident happened while the attorney was praying in a mosque.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.

Woman assaults cop: Police have arrested a young Kuwaiti woman for causing injuries to a police officer on duty, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to a security source the suspect was stopped in Salmiya. She was in the company of a young man and both of them were allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
The officer began asking questions to the young couple. One of them was personal and this allegedly infuriated the woman and she allegedly hit the officer in the face with her handbag and then again on his hand.
The woman has been detained for further interrogation while the youth has been released

Woman chases cop
: Police are interrogating an unidentified Kuwaiti woman for allegedly deliberately attempting to collide with the vehicle of a traffic police officer, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said this happened when the officer ordered the woman to pull over for violating a traffic law and confiscated her car registration documents which were also not renewed. Moreover the woman was driving a vehicle with tinted glasses in violation of a law.
The woman reportedly kept chasing the officer when he was on his way to a police station. The daily did not give more details.
