Nod to paperwork for ‘stranded’ expatriates
KUWAIT CITY, June 18: Nationals of five different countries currently residing in Kuwait will have their residency-related paperwork done at the various immigration departments.
The Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Al-Humoud issued a decision in that regard and ordered the senior immigration officials to process the residence permits of the expatriates in question, irrespective of ban imposed on the nationals of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The decision involves the processing of residence permits for those entering the country on visit or dependant visa and complying with the necessary conditions.
Meanwhile, MP Mohammed Al-Hayef praised the decision, which he described as ‘gracious humanitarian act’. He hopes procedures will be expedited, particularly with delayed transactions.
