Lebanese man arrested for attempting to give a bribe

KUWAIT CITY, June 17: An unidentified Lebanese businessman has been taken into custody for attempting to bribe the board members of the Bayan Cooperative Society to help him get a contract, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According a source the Lebanese is a vegetables supplier and he allegedly attempted to bribe the chairman of the Purchasing Department of the Bayan Cooperative Society.
The man allegedly offered the chairman KD 15,000 every month or KD 180,000 once every three years.
The chairman pretended to accept the offer and informed the Criminal Investigation Department.
After the place and date was set, the concerned authorities set a trap for the man and caught him red-handed.
The man was caught red-handed in possession of KD 15,000, believed to be the first installment of the bribe.
He has been referred to the concerned authority.

Asian with porno CDs arrested: Police arrested an Asian expatriate in possession of several CDs containing pornographic material. The man, who was spotted walking with a bag early in the morning, tried to escape on seeing policemen, but he was chased and arrested. During interrogation, he said sells such CDs to his compatriots and even offers home delivery service. The Asian was referred to authorities for further action.

Remains referred to Forensics: The partially decomposed remains of a 30-year-old Sri Lankan woman who is said to have died of internal bleeding have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police and paramedics acting on information from neighbors of the woman that foul smell was emanating from her apartment got permission from the Public Prosecution and forced open the door.
Initial reports show the woman died of internal bleeding.

Man, dog in custody: The Hawalli police have arrested a citizen for frightening passers-by — citizens and expatriates, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the man owns a pet dog and he let the dog frighten passersby.
Following complaints from several people, the Operations Department of the Interior Ministry dispatched police to the area and took the man and his dog into custody and referred the man to the concerned authority.
