‘No tinted-glass, wings, illegal antennas on cars’ ‘Follow traffic rules or face penalties’
KUWAIT CITY, June 8: Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs in Ministry of Interior Major General Dr Mustafa Al-Zuaibi is in no doubt that traffic officers are discharging their duties effectively. He urged people to abide by safety and security regulations and warned that traffic laws would be strictly enforced to protect road-users.
In a statement, Al-Zuaibi called attention to tinted-glass vehicles and added that Article 46 of Traffic Law specifies the front and rear glasses, as well as the glass in driver’s seat be transparent, according to standards in the Gulf. He stressed that only the passenger and load vehicles are allowed to have their rear glasses tinted.
Dr Zuaibi added that offenders would be punished with the fine of KD 15 or allowed to make corrections for KD 10. He stated that Article 52 of the law bans the use of reflective colored glasses and lights, additional lamps and plate numbers that are different from the ones obtained from the traffic department.
Other banned items include wings, unauthorized wireless antennas, and unofficial writings and stickers on vehicles body. He urged motorists to abide by the traffic rules and regulations for their own safety and avoid penalties.
