CID personnel arrest robbers of Fahaheel money exchange shop Kuwaiti woman thrashed by her boyfriend

KUWAIT CITY, June 3: Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department have traced the two Kuwaiti masterminds in the robbery that took place at the money exchange shop in Fahaheel about two weeks ago.

According to security sources, the suspects have admitted the crime and explained they spent the money in Morocco. They also disclosed another robbery they were planning at a bank in Rigga zone.

At a press conference on Friday, Captain Mohammed Al-Awadhi confirmed that security forces exerted tremendous efforts to arrest the criminals, considering nature of the crime, which involved guns and more caution was required.

He explained that the crime had taken place on May 19, according to report the Operations Room received in that regard and securitymen rushed to the scene to seal the crime scene for investigation, where traces of gunshots were detected, besides KD 10,000 the criminals had stolen and made away with. Also, detectives discovered there were no surveillance cameras at the shop. Therefore, they had to resort to surveillance cameras in neighboring shops and the streets.

Meanwhile, Criminal Evidences Men lifted fingerprints from the scene and found initial evidence that led them to the suspects after surveillance cameras revealed two veiled persons checking the location just before the robbery was effected. Detectives discovered that the suspects are recidivists after their arrest. The two citizens guided securitymen to the location where the gun used in the crime had been kept, and later disclosed that they had traveled to Morocco five hours after the robbery. A stolen vehicle was reportedly used for the operation.

Kuwaiti woman beaten: A Kuwaiti woman was beaten and severely injured in the face by her boyfriend inside an apartment in Salmiya. Apparently, co-tenants of the building heard the sound of mayhem coming from the woman’s apartment and notified the building’s caretaker who discerned the citizen’s door had been broke open and with traces of blood drops from the doorway to the lift.

Meanwhile, the tenants called the Operations Room after the boyfriend reportedly dragged the woman to his vehicle and drove away while policemen rushed to the scene to question the caretaker. Later, the suspect is said to have been invited to the Salmiya police station for questioning.
