Salons for women, barber shops fined in Farwaniya, Riggaei raids

KUWAIT CITY, June 2:  A 36-year-old Asian man got injuries in different parts of his body when three other Asians beat him and took his mobile phone and KD190 cash.
The victim later lodged a complaint at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station.  He told the officers that he knows his assailants and he believes they attacked and robbed him due to earlier disputes.  He provided police with a detailed description of the suspects, as well as a medical report to substantiate his claim.
A case was registered and investigations are in progress to arrest the suspects.

Salons raided: During campaigns on food centers and markets selling foodstuff, the Farwaniya Kuwait Municipality branch is said to have issued 15 citations against women salons and 25 barber shops in Khaitan, Riggaei and Farwaniya for not complying with laws, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports some of these establishments had not renewed their licenses and/or their employees did not carry health certificates.

Mall guards beaten: The Hawalli police have arrested five bedoun for beating guards of a commercial complex in Salmiya, reports Al-Anba daily. Without going into details the daily said as soon as the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior received reports about the incident, police patrols were rushed to the area and the suspects were taken into custody.

Swindler arrested: A Kuwaiti man who was wanted by law for swindling people has been arrested by police from his home in Firdous, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The arrest came following complaints filed by several people. One of the complainants said the man bought furniture from the Friday Market and after the goods were delivered to his house, he refused to pay.
In another incident, one Asian worker claimed the suspect asked him to renovate his house and after the job was completed he refused to pay.
The suspect is also known to invite people for dinner and order food from catering companies and after eating he refused to pay.
While some other men claimed the cheat sold them his car, and after receiving part payment in advance refused to transfer the documents.

Trees set on fire: Acting on information firemen rushed to Baghdad Street in Salmiya in the middle of the night and put out fire to palm trees, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to reports the fire was caused by a careless cigarette smoker.
