Ethiopian Maid wanted in theft arrested Fighting women block traffic
KUWAIT CITY, June 2: A 40-year-old Ethiopian housemaid who absconded from her sponsor after allegedly stealing KD 600 was apprehended by patrolmen when she was spotted by the roadside. She was referred to the concerned authority.
Meanwhile, traffic was at a standstill for some time on the Fifth Ring Road due to a fight between two unidentified women.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene after the Operations Room received a call from one of the road users, who witnessed the fight. No injuries were reported but both women were referred to the concerned security department for disrupting public order.
In another story, securitymen arrested an Egyptian with two bottles of local alcohol in his possession.
The officers got suspicious when they noticed the Egyptian was nervous when he reached a checkpoint in Salmiya. They checked his car thoroughly, leading to the discovery of two bottles of locally-brewed alcohol. A case was registered and the Egyptian was referred to the relevant security department for the necessary legal action.
And, a Kuwaiti traffic officer filed a complaint against a female compatriot for allegedly insulting him while on duty.
According to the officer, he was patrolling in Dajeej when he noticed a vehicle in a no parking area, so he put wheel locks. However, he was surprised when the owner of the car, a Kuwaiti woman, approached him and insulted him for doing his job. He then filed a complaint against the woman and the authorities summoned her for questioning.
