Kuwaiti swindles cash from 200 Egyptians pledging jobs
KUWAIT CITY, June 1: Police are looking for a Kuwaiti for swindling more than half a million Egyptian pounds from about 200 Egyptians, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the cheat took advantage of the situation in Egypt and placed an advertisement for professionals in the field of finance to run his business on Kuwait’s Stock Exchange market.
The swindler also said each applicant is required to fill a form and pay 3,000 Egyptian pounds before appearing for a written test which was to be followed by oral interview.
The applicants were shocked when they discovered none of them passed the test and that the suspect had left for Kuwait.
The victims have filed complaints with the Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo and the embassy has forwarded the complaints to Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Investigations conducted by police show the man is wanted by law in several financial frauds.
Woman looted: Police have arrested a Somali housemaid and are looking for her male compatriot for stealing KD 18,000 worth jewelry worth from the villa of a Kuwaiti businesswoman who lives in Fintas, reports Al-Anba daily.
The complaint has been filed against the housemaid by the businesswoman’s representative at the area police station.
During interrogation the maid is said to have admitted to the charge. She also said she handed over the loot to her relative.
