The 15th Berchmans Ever Rolling Trophy Inter-school Basketball Tournament was held at the Carmel School Grounds. The tournament was conducted separately for boys and girls. 8 boys’ teams and 3 girls’ teams participated in this prestigious tournament.

Carmel School won the Championship for Boys with 60 points. The Runner-up Trophy went to United Indian School with 59 points. The competition was extremely tight and the spectators watched with breathless excitement. Mohammed Danish of Carmel School won the Best Player (Boys) award. 
United Indian School (UIS), Abbassiya won the Championship for Girls with 40 points and the Runner-up Trophy was bagged by Carmel School with 12 points. Sofiyamma P. Chacko, Captain of UIS won the Best Player (Girls) award.

Thomas Scaria, the convener, welcomed the gathering and Thomas Varghese, the president, inaugurated the tournament. Al Mulla Exchange, Gigy Jacob Pollayil and Al Wassen Electronics were the sponsors. Shibu Pallickal, general secretary, announced the results and delivered the vote of thanks.

M.K. Pothen, K.P. Koshy, Aloysius Thomas, Scaria Cherian, Kurien Varghese and all the tournament committee members were present throughout the event.
Service rendered by Paulson and Jimmy Paul in conducting the tournament were commendable. Ms Lyneth and team were the officials for the matches.
